The Gävle goat is a colossal straw goat built each year in Slottstorget to mark Advent. Since its first appearance in 1966, it has gained international notoriety for being frequently burned down by vandals, despite security measures. Visitors can see the goat on display from late November through December, often protected by fences and cameras.
