Abisko National Park, established in 1909, covers 77 square kilometers of untouched Arctic wilderness in northern Sweden. The park features the famous Kungsleden hiking trail, which winds through birch forests, across mountain plateaus, and past the Abiskojokk canyon. Visitors can explore a network of well-marked trails, spot reindeer and arctic foxes, and enjoy the midnight sun in summer. In winter, the park's clear skies and minimal light pollution make it one of the best places on Earth to see the Aurora Borealis. The park's unique microclimate often results in clearer skies than surrounding areas.

Don't miss

  • Hike the Kungsleden trail through the park's diverse landscapes
  • View the Northern Lights from the park's dark-sky areas
  • Explore the Abiskojokk canyon and its waterfalls
