Kawa is an important archaeological site located near Dongola, featuring a well-preserved temple dedicated to the god Amun. Built during the New Kingdom and later expanded by Kushite pharaohs, the temple complex includes a pylon, courtyards, and a sanctuary with intricate reliefs. Visitors can see inscriptions depicting offerings and rituals, as well as remnants of statues and stelae.
