The Dutch Reformed Church in Matara is a well-preserved colonial-era church built by the Dutch in the 18th century. Its whitewashed facade with a distinctive gable and wooden shutters reflects Dutch architectural influence. Inside, the original wooden pulpit and floor tombstones from the 1700s evoke the colonial past. The church is still used for services, and its peaceful courtyard offers a quiet spot away from the busy town.
