Ruwanwelisaya is a colossal white stupa in Anuradhapura, constructed by King Dutugemunu in the 2nd century BCE. It stands over 100 meters tall and is one of the tallest ancient stupas in the country. Visitors are awed by its pristine white dome and the surrounding courtyard filled with smaller shrines. The stupa is a major pilgrimage site, where devotees offer flowers and chant. Its sheer scale and serene atmosphere make it a must-see.
