Yatala Vehera is an ancient Buddhist stupa dating to the 3rd century BCE, renowned for its excellent state of preservation. The stupa's dome and surrounding structures offer insight into early Buddhist architecture in Sri Lanka. Visitors can walk around the base, observe the intricate stonework, and feel the spiritual atmosphere. The site is less crowded than other temples, allowing for a more contemplative experience. It remains an active place of worship, with devotees often seen making offerings.
