St. Anthony's Shrine in Kochchikade is one of Sri Lanka's most important Catholic pilgrimage sites, drawing devotees of all faiths. The church, built in the 19th century, houses a venerated statue of St. Anthony believed to perform miracles. Visitors often see locals praying, lighting candles, and leaving offerings. The interior features beautiful stained glass and a peaceful atmosphere despite its urban setting. The shrine is especially crowded on Tuesdays and during the feast in June, when processions and special masses take place.
