The Cave of Altxerri is a prehistoric site near Zarautz, part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing for the Cave of Altamira and Paleolithic Cave Art of Northern Spain. The cave features remarkable paintings of bison, deer, and other animals created over 15,000 years ago. Access is limited to small groups to preserve the fragile art, and visitors must book in advance.
