Berenguela Tower is the most recognizable bell tower of the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, rising above the Obradoiro Square. Named after the archbishop who commissioned its construction in the 14th century, the tower is a blend of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles, reflecting centuries of modifications. Visitors can climb the narrow spiral staircase to the top, where they are rewarded with sweeping views of the city's rooftops, the cathedral's spires, and the distant hills of Galicia. The tower also houses the cathedral's bells, including the famous 'Berenguela' bell, which chimes on the hour. The climb is an experience in itself, passing through stone chambers and offering glimpses of the cathedral's interior structure. It's a must-do for anyone wanting to appreciate the scale of the cathedral and the layout of Santiago de Compostela.
