The Church of Santa Cruz de Cangas de Onís is a modest pre-Romanesque chapel rebuilt in the 20th century on a medieval foundation. Its main treasure is the Victory Cross (Cruz de la Victoria), a replica of the original oak cross said to have been carried by Pelagius at Covadonga. The cross is now the emblem of Asturias. Inside, visitors see a simple stone interior, a small altar, and the cross displayed in a glass case. The church sits atop a hill with views over the Sella River.
