Rising to 1,410 meters, Puig Campana is the highest peak in the province of Alicante and a landmark visible from much of the Costa Blanca. The mountain's distinctive shape, a jagged ridge with a famous gap known as the 'Brecha', makes it a favorite subject for photographers. Hiking to the summit is a strenuous but rewarding experience, typically taking 4–5 hours round trip. The trail winds through Mediterranean scrub and rocky terrain, culminating in panoramic vistas that stretch from Benidorm's skyline to the island of Ibiza on clear days. Along the way, you'll encounter diverse flora, including aromatic rosemary and thyme, and possibly spot birds of prey like peregrine falcons. The mountain is also a popular spot for rock climbing, with several routes on its limestone faces. For those seeking a less demanding outing, the base of the mountain offers pleasant walking paths and picnic areas.
