Igrexa de San Xurxo (St. George's Church) is a Baroque gem in A Coruña's historic quarter, built in the 17th–18th centuries. Its exterior features a dramatic curved façade with twin bell towers, while inside the real treasure is the magnificent high altarpiece, a riot of gilded woodwork, twisted columns, and religious sculptures. The church also houses several side chapels with polychrome statues. Visitors often pause to admire the interplay of light on the gold leaf, creating a warm, reverent atmosphere. It remains an active parish church, so you may hear organ music or see locals at prayer.
