The Church of Santiago (St. James) is one of A Coruña's oldest churches, originally built in the 12th century and later modified. Its architecture is a fascinating mix: the Romanesque south portal features carved capitals and a tympanum, while the Gothic rose window and ribbed vaults were added in the 14th–15th centuries. Inside, the single nave leads to a polygonal apse with a modern altarpiece. The church sits on a small square in the old town, surrounded by narrow streets. It's a quiet spot for reflection, with a palpable sense of history in its weathered stone walls.
