Jinjuseong, a stone fortress overlooking the Nam River, is a defining landmark of Jinju and a poignant reminder of the Imjin War (1592–1598). Visitors can stroll along the restored walls, explore the Chokseongnu Pavilion with its panoramic river views, and visit the memorial hall dedicated to the Korean soldiers and civilians who defended the fortress. The site also hosts the annual Jinju Lantern Festival, when the grounds glow with thousands of lanterns.
