Wonderboom Nature Reserve is a small but remarkable conservation area named after its ancient wonderboom fig tree, which has a massive canopy supported by multiple trunks. Visitors can walk along easy trails that lead to the tree, which is estimated to be over a millennium old, and explore the surrounding bushveld. The reserve is home to dassies (rock hyraxes), monkeys, and various bird species. Its distinctive feature is the tree itself, a living monument that has become a symbol of resilience and natural history in the region.
