Mount Krn is the highest peak in the Krn range, standing at 2,244 meters and dominating the skyline above Kobarid. It is a classic destination for hikers and climbers, offering a strenuous but scenic ascent through alpine pastures, limestone scree, and past remnants of World War I trenches and bunkers. The summit rewards with breathtaking views of the Soča Valley, Triglav, and the Adriatic Sea. The mountain is also part of the Walk of Peace trail, linking historical sites of the Isonzo Front. Wildlife like chamois and golden eagles are often spotted.
