The Basilica of St. James is a Gothic church in Levoča's main square, famous for housing the world's tallest wooden altar, standing 18.6 meters high. Carved from linden wood by Master Paul around 1510, the altar depicts the Last Supper and saints with intricate detail. Visitors can also see the church's medieval frescoes and the tomb of Master Paul. The basilica's soaring interior and artistic treasures make it a highlight of any visit to Levoča.
