Dominating Liberty Square (Trg Slobode), Novi Sad City Hall is a masterpiece of neo-Renaissance architecture completed in 1895. Its elegant facade, adorned with statues and a tall clock tower, serves as the city's symbolic heart. In front stands the bronze statue of Svetozar Miletić, a 19th-century Serbian politician and mayor. The square buzzes with life, surrounded by cafes and historic buildings. While the interior is not generally open to the public, the exterior alone is a must-see landmark, especially when illuminated at night.
Don't miss
- The ornate clock tower, a defining feature of Novi Sad's skyline.
- The statue of Svetozar Miletić, a tribute to the city's progressive mayor.
- Liberty Square itself, a vibrant pedestrian hub with outdoor cafes and events.
