Al-Baqi Cemetery, also known as Jannat al-Baqi, is the primary burial ground in Medina, holding deep religious significance. It is the final resting place of numerous Sahaba (companions of the Prophet Muhammad), including Caliphs Uthman ibn Affan and Hasan ibn Ali, as well as the Prophet's wives and daughter Fatima. Visitors come to pay respects and reflect on Islamic history, walking through the serene, white-marble marked graves. The site offers a profound connection to early Islamic figures, though photography is generally discouraged out of respect.
