Verchild's Peak is one of the prominent volcanic peaks on Saint Kitts, rising to about 3,000 feet above sea level. The hike to the summit is strenuous, winding through lush tropical forest and steep, sometimes rocky terrain. Experienced hikers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, the island's coastline, and on clear days, the neighboring islands of Nevis, St. Eustatius, and Saba. The trail is less traveled than that of Mount Liamuiga, offering a more solitary adventure. Birdwatchers may spot native species along the way, and the summit provides a perfect vantage point for photography.

Don't miss

  • Hike through lush tropical forest on a challenging trail
  • Take in panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and nearby islands
  • Spot native birds and enjoy the solitude of a less-crowded peak
