Romney Manor is a beautifully restored 17th-century plantation house set amid six acres of lush tropical gardens on Saint Kitts. The estate is famous for its impressive saman tree, believed to be over 400 years old, which shades the grounds. Visitors can explore the vibrant gardens filled with hibiscus, bougainvillea, and other tropical plants. The main attraction is the working batik factory, Caribelle Batik, where artisans demonstrate the traditional wax-resist dyeing technique. You can watch them create intricate designs on fabric and purchase unique batik clothing, accessories, and art. The manor itself houses a small museum with historical artifacts. Romney Manor offers a peaceful, cultural escape from the beach crowds.
