Hôtel des Mille Collines, known globally as the 'Hotel Rwanda' from the 2004 film, is a historic luxury hotel in central Kigali. During the 1994 genocide, it sheltered over a thousand Tutsi and moderate Hutu refugees, thanks to the efforts of manager Paul Rusesabagina. Today, the hotel operates as a four-star property with a pool, restaurants, and bars. Visitors can stay overnight or simply tour the lobby and pool area, which remain largely unchanged. The hotel serves as a living memorial to the courage shown during the genocide.
