The Uglich Hydroelectric Station is a Soviet-era dam and power plant on the Volga River, completed in the 1940s. It is one of the earliest large hydroelectric projects in Russia and played a key role in the region's industrialization. Visitors can view the dam from the riverbank or a nearby bridge, observing the impressive structure and the locks that allow ship passage. The station is not open for tours, but its exterior and the surrounding park offer a glimpse into Soviet engineering. The area provides panoramic views of the Volga and the town of Uglich.

Don't miss

  • View the dam and locks from the pedestrian bridge or riverbank.
  • Photograph the Soviet-era architecture and the Volga River backdrop.
  • Walk along the adjacent park for a relaxing break with river views.
