Best dinner we had in Saint Petersburg! The traditional appetizers were to die for and they have a vodka menu with over 200 types. Main dishes were delicious and fairly priced and the waiters were great to us too. The vodka museum is quite interesting for a quick visit during your meal.
This restaurant is awesome. This place was recommended by out tourguide to have the best Beef Stroganoff and she didnt fail us. The best beef Stroganoff. Chicken kiev was super delicious as well. The dumpling maybe a bit bland but it was perfectly steamed. Prices may be a bit high but the quality is exceptional. You may need to get a reservation. Btw, they gave us a complimentary bread basket which could have cost 300 rubles. Dessert was also complimentary. We were so lucky and did not regret what we paid for the food and experience.
Vodka Room is nice place serving traditional Russian food. Vodka museum was probably closed this time, but definitly worse to visit, and taste some exponates :) Cold beetroot soup worked for me perfectly at hot summer day. And of course Kiev Chicken, personal must eat Russian cuisine dish.
A great option to try sophisticated authentic Russian cuisine, lots of specialties in the menu. Size of portions was bigger than expected, enough to make you full. A very wide range of drinks, they have vodka of various famous brands and other vodka-like drinks that I didn't even know about and I m a Russian. I would recommend trying those drinks with different flavors as they seem to be a specialty. Better to rely on waiter's recommendations, they seem to be very knowledgeable. Another great surpise is a variety of snacks that are usually served with vodka. The interior imitating the look of an early 20th century Russian restaurant and live music performance with songs of that era added to an authentic experience. The Vodka Museum is interesting as well, we didn t take a tour, just had a look on our own. You can also buy a bottle of vodka and other related souvenirs. My husband is not a Russian but we both truly enjoyed the food and an overall experience.
