The Rostov Kremlin is a fortified religious complex that once served as the metropolitan's residence. Its centerpiece is the Assumption Cathedral, built in the 16th century, with five domes and a magnificent iconostasis. Adjacent is the iconic bell tower, whose 15 bells are renowned for their rich tones. The Kremlin's white stone walls and golden domes create a fairy-tale silhouette against the sky.
