The Amber Room is a reconstructed 18th-century masterpiece within the Catherine Palace in Pushkin. Originally created for Prussian King Frederick I, it was gifted to Peter the Great and later expanded by Catherine the Great. The room's walls are covered with over six tons of amber panels, intricately carved and inlaid with semi-precious stones and gold. Visitors marvel at the glowing, honey-colored surfaces and ornate mirrors that amplify the light. The original room was looted during WWII and lost; the current version was painstakingly recreated using historical records and completed in 2003. It remains a symbol of artistic collaboration and resilience.
