Monplaisir Palace, part of the Peterhof ensemble, was Peter the Great's favorite retreat. Its Dutch-inspired design reflects his admiration for the Netherlands. Visitors see the original interiors, including a dining room with Delft tiles and a study with a collection of maritime paintings. The adjacent Monplaisir Garden has playful trick fountains and a terrace overlooking the gulf.
