The Butchers' Tower, built in the 14th century by the butchers' guild, is one of the best-preserved defensive towers in Sighișoara's citadel. Its robust structure and strategic location guarded the southeastern approach. Today, it houses a small museum featuring a collection of medieval weapons, armor, and torture devices. Visitors can see authentic crossbows, swords, and a replica of a medieval rack. The tower's dark, vaulted chambers create an atmospheric setting that evokes its grim past.
Don't miss
- View the collection of medieval swords, crossbows, and armor displayed in the tower's stone chambers.
- See the replica torture devices, including a rack and an iron maiden, with informative placards.
