Usturoi is a prominent peak in the Gutâi Mountains, rising to about 1,300 meters. It is a favorite destination for hikers seeking expansive views of the surrounding Maramureș region. The ascent typically starts from the village of Chiuzbaia or from the ski area at Suior, following well-marked trails through forests and alpine meadows. At the summit, visitors are rewarded with a 360-degree panorama that includes the Baia Mare basin and distant Carpathian ridges. The hike is moderately challenging and takes a few hours round trip.
