Al Zubara Fort is a square, stone fortress built in 1938 by Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani. Originally a military and police post, it now houses a small museum with artifacts from the region's pearl fishing and trading past. Visitors can explore its four watchtowers, central courtyard, and thick coral-stone walls. The fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding desert and the nearby Zubarah archaeological site, making it an essential stop for understanding Qatar's heritage.

Don't miss

  • Climb the watchtowers for sweeping views of the desert and the Zubarah ruins.
  • Examine the museum's collection of pottery, coins, and pearl-fishing tools.
  • Walk the fort's perimeter to see the original defensive features, including gun ports and battlements.
