São Bento railway station is a historic train station celebrated for its breathtaking interior covered in over 20,000 azulejo tiles. The main hall's tile panels depict scenes from Portuguese history, including the Battle of Valdevez and the conquest of Ceuta, as well as rural life and transportation. The station, built in the early 20th century on the site of a former Benedictine monastery, combines Beaux-Arts architecture with traditional Portuguese tilework. It remains an active railway hub and a must-see attraction for art and history enthusiasts.
