The Castro of Cidadelhe is an Iron Age settlement perched on a hilltop, offering a glimpse into pre-Roman life in the region. Visitors can walk among the remains of circular stone houses, defensive walls, and a central plaza, all dating from around the 1st millennium BC. The site is remarkably well-preserved, with some structures standing several feet high. From the top, there are sweeping views over the Douro Valley and nearby mountains.
