Chaves is a historic city in northern Portugal known for its Roman past, medieval architecture, and natural hot springs. The city center features a well-preserved Roman bridge (Ponte de Trajano) with 12 visible arches, a medieval castle keep (Torre de Menagem), and narrow cobblestone streets lined with traditional shops and cafés.
