The Castro of Santa Trega is an ancient Iron Age settlement perched on a hill overlooking the Miño estuary and the Atlantic Ocean. Excavations have revealed well-preserved stone houses, circular structures, and defensive walls, offering a glimpse into pre-Roman life. The site also includes a small museum displaying artifacts found during digs. Visitors can walk among the ruins and enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape, including the river, the coast, and the nearby Spanish town of A Guarda. It is one of the most important castros in Galicia, though located just across the border in Portugal.
