Nikiszowiec is a unique neighborhood built between 1908 and 1918 for miners of the nearby Giesche mine. Its distinctive architecture features rows of red-brick apartment blocks arranged around leafy courtyards, with ornate gables and arched gateways. The area has a cohesive, almost fortress-like appearance, yet feels welcoming with small shops, cafes, and a lively market square. Visitors can admire the well-preserved facades, step into the local bakery for a traditional pastry, and explore the historic St. Anne's Church. The neighborhood's strong community spirit and authentic character make it a must-see.
