The Gdańsk Crane is a iconic medieval structure that once served as both a port crane and a city gate. Its massive wooden wheels, powered by men walking inside, lifted heavy cargo and masts onto ships. Today, it houses a fascinating exhibition on maritime history, including models of ships and port equipment. Visitors can see the original mechanism up close and learn about Gdańsk's role as a Hanseatic trading hub. The crane's silhouette is one of the most photographed sights in the city.
