Besao is a quiet municipality adjacent to Sagada, known for its well-preserved rice terraces and traditional Igorot communities. Visitors can hike through the terraces, visit the village of Agawa with its century-old dap-ay (stone meeting place), and enjoy views of the surrounding mountains. Unlike the more touristy Sagada, Besao offers a tranquil glimpse into rural life and indigenous culture.

Don't miss

  • Trek the Besao rice terraces, less crowded than Banaue
  • Visit the traditional dap-ay in Agawa village
  • Enjoy panoramic views of the Cordillera mountains
