Camalig, a town just outside Legazpi, is celebrated for its rich agricultural landscape and the famous Cagsawa Ruins. The ruins are the remains of a 16th-century Franciscan church partially buried by the 1814 eruption of Mayon Volcano, now a popular tourist attraction offering a dramatic view of the volcano. Visitors can explore the site, photograph the bell tower emerging from the lava, and learn about the eruption's history at the small on-site museum. The town also produces pineapples, rice, and other crops, with local markets offering fresh produce.
