Colcampata is an Inca palace complex perched on a hill near Sacsayhuamán, traditionally linked to Manco Cápac, the legendary founder of the Inca Empire. The site features finely cut stone walls, terraces, and a large plaza with views over Cusco. Unlike the massive fortress of Sacsayhuamán, Colcampata offers a more intimate look at Inca royal architecture. Visitors can walk among the ruins, admire the stonework, and enjoy a quieter, less-visited spot with a direct view of the city below.

Don't miss

  • Admire the precision-cut polygonal stone walls typical of Inca palaces.
  • Take in the panoramic view of Cusco from the plaza.
  • Explore the terraces and imagine life in a royal residence.
