Palacio de los López is the official workplace of Paraguay's president, set on the banks of the Paraguay River. Its distinctive pink color and French-inspired neoclassical design make it one of Asunción's most photographed landmarks. While the interior is not generally open to the public, visitors can walk around the perimeter, admire the façade with its columns and mansard roofs, and view the ceremonial guards. The palace is part of a larger government complex near the historic center.

Don't miss

  • Photograph the iconic pink façade and the ornate main gate from the sidewalk.
  • Watch the changing of the guard ceremony, which takes place at the main entrance.
  • Stroll along the waterfront promenade for views of the palace against the river.
