Fort Randolph was established in the early 1900s to defend the Atlantic approach to the Panama Canal, armed with large-caliber guns that could target enemy ships. Today, visitors can walk among the massive concrete gun emplacements, searchlight platforms, and ammunition bunkers that remain largely intact. The fort offers panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the canal's entrance, making it a photogenic and educational stop. Its remote location near Colón adds a sense of discovery, with interpretive signs explaining its strategic importance.
