Beitin is a Palestinian village near Ramallah, widely identified with the ancient city of Bethel. Archaeological excavations have uncovered remains from the Canaanite, Israelite, Roman, and Byzantine periods, including fortifications, houses, and a Roman bathhouse. Visitors can wander through the tell and see artifacts that illustrate layers of history. The site is distinctive for its continuous habitation over millennia and its biblical connections, offering a tangible link to the stories of Abraham, Jacob, and the early Israelites.
