Shechem, identified with Tell Balata, is an archaeological site just east of Nablus. Visitors can walk among the remains of a Canaanite city gate, fortifications, and a temple precinct that date back thousands of years. The site is significant as an ancient political and religious center mentioned in the Bible. Excavations have uncovered layers from the Middle Bronze Age through the Iron Age, offering a tangible connection to the region's deep history.
