Nan'yō Shrine is a rare surviving Shinto shrine built during Japan's administration of Palau under the South Seas Mandate. Nestled in a wooded area of Koror, the shrine features traditional Japanese architecture, including a torii gate and stone lanterns. Though no longer an active place of worship, it serves as a poignant reminder of Palau's complex history. Visitors can explore the serene grounds, reflecting on the cultural exchange between Japan and Palau. The site is well-maintained and offers a glimpse into the past.
