Ayub National Park

Ayub National Park, also known as Ayub Park, is a large national park on the Grand Trunk Road in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It covers 313 acres and is the largest park in the Islamabad–Rawalpindi area. Visitors can explore a zoo, an animal-themed amusement park, a cricket ground, a hockey ground, and former barracks converted into overnight resorts.

A bit of history

The park was established during the British Raj as Topi Rakh Park, a popular picnic spot. In 1959, it was converted into a national park under President Ayub Khan. It fell into disuse in the early 1990s but was revived in 2001 when the Army Heritage Foundation took over and added play areas, jogging tracks, and lawns. A Miracle Garden, waste recycling plant, and chairlift were inaugurated in 2021.
