The Kanishka Stupa is the remains of a colossal Buddhist monument constructed in the 2nd century CE by Emperor Kanishka of the Kushan Empire. Once one of the tallest structures in the ancient world, the stupa now lies in ruins, but its foundations and scattered artifacts offer a glimpse into Peshawar's Buddhist heritage. Visitors can see the excavated site, including remnants of the stupa's base and nearby monastery. It is a key stop for history buffs and those interested in Gandharan civilization.
