Svolværgeita, or 'the Goat of Svolvær,' is a distinctive rock formation resembling a goat's head, rising sharply from the sea. It is a popular destination for adventurous climbers who tackle the exposed ridge to stand between its two 'horns.' For photographers, the formation offers a dramatic foreground against the backdrop of the Lofoten mountains and fjords. Visitors can view the goat from the harbor or take a boat tour for a closer look, but only experienced climbers should attempt the ascent.
Don't miss
- Photograph the goat from the water on a fjord cruise for the classic silhouette
- Watch climbers scale the narrow ridge between the two horns
- Hike the nearby trails for panoramic views of Svolværgeita and the surrounding landscape
