Sverd i fjell is a monumental sculpture created by artist Fritz Røed, marking the site of the Battle of Hafrsfjord where King Harald Fairhair unified Norway. The three swords, each over 30 feet tall, represent the leaders of the battle and are planted into a rocky outcrop overlooking the fjord. Visitors can walk right up to the monument, feel the textured bronze, and take in panoramic views of the water and surrounding landscape. It's a powerful symbol of peace and unity, not just a historical marker.
