Troldhaugen, meaning 'Troll Hill,' was the beloved summer home of Norway's most famous composer, Edvard Grieg, from 1885 until his death in 1907. Set on a wooded hillside overlooking Lake Nordås, the museum preserves Grieg's original villa, where he composed many of his best-known works. Visitors can tour the intimate rooms filled with period furnishings and personal artifacts, then walk the short path to his tiny lakeside composer's hut. The modern concert hall, Troldsalen, hosts regular performances, and the surrounding park offers tranquil views that inspired Grieg's music.
