The Hanseatic Museum and Schøtstuene provide an immersive experience of the Hanseatic merchants' world in Bergen. The museum is housed in one of the oldest wooden buildings on Bryggen, dating from the early 18th century, and displays original interiors, artifacts, and exhibits about the Hanseatic trade network. The Schøtstuene, or assembly rooms, were where merchants gathered for meetings, celebrations, and meals. These rooms are richly decorated and offer a contrast to the austere living quarters. Together, they paint a comprehensive picture of the social and commercial life of the German merchants who dominated Bergen's trade for centuries.
